#BerberNailedIt

Hi Beauties! It’s Friday again and you know what that means… its time for me to show you how I nailed my current manicure.
Let’s get started. The products I used are as follows:
~Seche vite
~Piggy polish in 6 impossible things
~Sally Henson polish in pink boa
~Revlon polish in Espresso
~Nail vinyls

image

* I put all of the polishes in a collection on Luvocracy so if you wanted to purchase them they are all in one spot.*

First I applyed 2 coats of 6 impossible things by piggy polish on my first and ring finger. These are my accent nails. After they are dry I seal it with a top coat.

image

I give the top coat a little extra time to dry and paint the remander of my nails pink boa by Sally Henson. Again once dry I appliy a top coat.

image

*The top coat is really important. If you don’t use it before applying nail vinyls the polish will come up.*

I place 6 nail vinyls vertically on my accent nails. I paint one nail with espresso by Revlon and immediately take the nail vinyls off. Then I do the same with the other nail. I set them with a dry fast top coat seche vite.

image

*it’s important to paint one nail then remove the vinyls. You want to remove the vinyls when wet still. If you paint more then one nail the polish starts to set and you don’t get super straight lines. *

Almost done! I then put 3 of the wider nail vinyls diagonal on each accent nail. Taking one nail at a time, I paint with espresso and remove the vinyls. Then seal with seche vite.

image

You can stop there if you want because thats a super cute design. I wanted a little more. So I placed nail vinyls on the tops of my three pink nails (like a french tip). Then one nail at a time i painted the tips with espresso, removed the nail vinyls, and sealed it with seche vite.

image

Super simple and easy. The hard part is waiting for your polish to dry. 😉

#BerberNailedIt

Hi Beauties! It’s time for a #BerbernailedIt tutorial. I have been so obsessed with chevron nails lately. Today’s design is super easy to achieve with @nailvinyls nail vinyl’s. You can check her store out here.

image

I used two base nail polishes, two holo glitter polishes, a white polish, nail vinyls and a top coat.

image

To start off I used the two base colors. For the accent nails I used concrete evidence from ulta and for the rest of the nails I used secret story by essie. After painting each nail with two coats, I applyed a top coat. The top coat helps so the nail vinyls don’t pick up the nail polish.

image

Next I applyed the cheveron nail vinyls on each nail. Today I used 2 per nail. See picture for placement.

I picked a holo glitter polish that was similar to the base colors I used. Drunk on holo and radiantly wrecked are my favorite! They are from an indie polish maker @paintedpolish. Right now her shop is closed but you can check it out here in a couple of weeks.

image

I painted the tips of each nail their matching holo polish color and added white in the center. Then quickly removed the nail vinyls.

image

Once dry I added a quick dry top coat, seche vite.

image

Now I have a beautiful shiny manni!

#BerberNailedIt

Hey Beauties, Happy Fourth of July! Today’s #BerberNailedIt nails are… you guessed it Fourth of July themed!

image

Let’s get started!
You will need: a base coat, red, white, and blue polish, top coat, nail vinyls or tape, and a dotting tool.

image

First I pained my nails with orlys nail bonder. When my base coat was dry I pained my thumb and ring finger with white on white by china glaze. Next I painted the remaining fingers with essies lollipop. I used seche vite to seal the nails. The red nails are done. Now let’s make some flags!

image

I positioned 2 nail vinyls across my white nails. See pictures for placement.

*For this next part I finished each step on each nail before starting the next.*

image

This part needs to be done pretty fast so you get super straight lines.
I pained the top part, with the most white showing, pearl blue by kiss. Then quickly painted the rest of my nail with essies lollipop.
After I do that I quickly take off the nail vinyls on that nail.

image

*Repeat steps on the other white nails*

image

My flags are almost done!
For the “stars” I took some white on white by china glaze and drop some globs of it on a paper plate. Then I take my dotting tool and dip in in the white. I placed my dots in three rows but you can just randomly place them if you want.
Sealed the flag nails with seche vite and done! Now I have some super cute nails!

image

I could have painted flags on each nail but I thought that was a little too much. So I just used it as accent nails.

See you Beauties next Friday!

#BoxWars

Hello Beauties and welcome to my first ever #BoxWars!!! Today’s we have three challengers!
Birchbox vs Beauty Box 5 (BB5) vs Ipsy

image

Let’s get started! Up first we have shampoo and conditioner samples. Organix from BB5 and Davines from Birchbox.
Organix:
*Negative= small single use sample
*Positive= Great scent, scent lingered in your hair throughout the day
Davines:
*Negative= the scent wasn’t for me, the scent didn’t linger in your hair (kinda glad though), conditioner sample was only enough for 2 uses.
*Positive= Shampoo was deluxe size
*Winner*
Beauty Box 5

Next up is Ipsy with Bombshell mascara vs BB5 with Glam Natural mascara
Bombshell:
*Negative= smells really bad, has a dry formula, couldn’t tell a difference once applyed
*Positive= full sized product
Glam Natural:
*Negative= very small wand
*Positive= nice wet texture, worked once 2 coats applyed, deluxe sized sample
*Winner*
Beauty Box 5

Next up we have cleansers
Eslor from BB5 vs Vasanti from Birchbox vs Skinn from Ipsy.
Eslor: To be honest I didn’t try this. It came with tiny packets. I am very picky about what cleansers I put on my face especially if I am only going to be able to try it once.
Vasanti:
*Negative= very corse, felt too harsh on my skin
*Positive= nice fresh scent, Deluxe size sample
Skinn:
*Negative= None
*Positive= smells like frosting, very smooth, no irritation
*Winner*
Ipsy

Up next two lip products
Laqa & co from Birchbox vs NYX Butter Gloss from Ipsy.
To be honest I fell head over heels with both products. Color payoff was amazing with both products. Laqa was a deluxe sized sample and NYX was full size! I have no complaints about either product. So a point goes to each!

So far that is 2 points for Ipsy, 2 points for BB5, and 1 point for Birchbox. The next part is the lightning round. Where I’ll name each product that is left from each box and say briefly if I loved it or could live without it. Each product I loved will recieve a additional point!

~=~Lightning Round~=~
Beauty Box 5=
Nikka K nailpolish (full size): Love! Who doesn’t love nailpolish?!
Vitabath body wash (deluxe size): Love! Pink frosting scent is so yummy!
BB5 Total= 4

Birchbox=
Supergoop! (mini sample): Could live without. Too watery
Joie Perfume (small vile): Love! Manderin, rose and sandalwood smell so lovely together.
Birchbox Total= 2

Ipsy=
Dove Dry Oil (Deluxe sample): Love! Left my hair feeling so soft!
Jesse’s Girl eyeliner (full size): Love! Has been my go to liner since I received it!
Ipsy Total=4

Beauties it looks like we have a tie between Beauty Box 5 and Ipsy!!! For the tie breaker lets go back and count the full size products we received in both boxes. In BB5 we recieved one full sized and 2 deluxe size samples. In Ipsy we recieved two full sized (that we loved) and 2 deluxe sized! So the winner is… Ipsy!!!!

Well that was so much fun! Can’t wait to see who will win in next month’s #BoxWars. Do you get any of these boxes? Let me know in the comments what you got! Want to receive these boxes? Click on the name of the box you want and it takes you directly to the site. Also, let me know of any other monthly beauty box subscriptions you recommend.
Till next time…

*Disclamer: I have paid for each box I received and all opinions are my own.*

Welcome Beauties!

My name is Amber but everyone calls me Berber. I am not a beauty guru but I do love everything about the beauty world. I love make-up, doing my own nails, and trying out new products… I also have an opinion on everything!
On this blog I will share my beauty finds and flops as well as a nail art tutorials, and box subscription reviews.

Here is the plan:
July first I’ll post my first blog series #boxwars. This series will be about beauty subscription boxes that I purchased myself. It will be a review of the previous months boxes, what I thought about each product I sampled, and which box is that months winner. This will be a monthly series.
My second series will be #NailedIt. This will happen every friday. I will either create my own design or attempt a design I have found online  and show what I did step by step.
Along with those 2 series I’ll probably post a couple of reviews of new products that I have tried.

I am super excited to start this blog with you!
